Brian Rois-Mendez, BVMS

Dr. Brian Rois-Mendez grew up in the San Diego area and began his career working with animals at the local Animal Shelter and Humane Society.  He attended Cal Poly State University at San Luis Obispo where he attained a bachelor's degree in Animal Science.  Before attending graduate school, Dr. Brian studied equine dentistry and became certified through the International Association of Equine Dental Technicians.  Next, Dr. Brian flew to Scotland to attend the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine.  He graduated in 2006 and worked mixed practices in both Durham, England and the suburbs of Glasgow, Scotland for about 1.5 yrs before heading back home to the San Diego area.  There he worked for several practices specializing in exotic species as well as dogs/cats.  Dr. Brian moved to Nevada City in 2021 and started working with Motherlode in early 2022.  Dr. Brian enjoys working with exotic mammals and reptiles as well as dogs and cats.  Outside of work, he enjoys working on engineering and construction projects at home.  Dr. Brian is happily married to his wife Kristy and has two kids, Rye and Henley, as well as one dog Gus, and one cat Monkey.
